Skiing an hour from Geneva: Combloux, facing Mont Blanc, for a weekend or a week
From Geneva, Combloux is an hour's drive along the Autoroute Blanche. It is one of the closest resorts to the airport with Mont Blanc facing the slopes. And it is the gateway to Megève and the Évasion Mont-Blanc ski area.

Getting here.
- By car: A40, exit 20 Sallanches, then the road to Megève. It takes an hour from the airport or from the centre of Geneva, outside the holiday Saturday traffic jams.
- From the airport: car hire companies in the French sector put you straight onto the French road, in a car fitted for winter. On the Swiss side, the Swiss motorway requires the vignette.
- Tyres: winter tyres or snow chains on board are compulsory in Haute-Savoie from 1 November to 31 March.
- Without a car: AlpyBus shared shuttles, door to door, from €29.50 per person, from mid-December; or bus 274 to Sallanches, then the Y83.
The three-night weekend
Stays start at 3 nights. Arrive on Friday evening, ski Saturday and Sunday, and drive home on Monday morning before the traffic, or on Sunday evening. January and March are the best months: few people on the slopes, and snow.
Swiss school holidays
These are the weeks we are asked for most from Geneva:
- Christmas holidays until 8 January 2027 in Geneva, until the 10th in Vaud and Valais;
- February sports holidays: Vaud 6 to 14, Valais 13 to 22, Geneva 15 to 19 February, Neuchâtel 1 to 5 March, Fribourg 8 to 12 February.

The ski area.
- Portes du Mont-Blanc: 100 km, at the foot of the building, the slopes 50 m away, across the road. €52.50 a day.
- Évasion Mont-Blanc: over 400 km with Megève, Saint-Gervais and Les Contamines. €65 a day.
- Chamonix: 36 minutes away for a high-mountain day.
Why Combloux rather than another resort
Les Gets, Morzine, Flaine or La Clusaz are a similar distance from Geneva. What makes the difference here:
- Mont Blanc facing the slopes;
- wide slopes and little queuing;
- Megève 13 minutes away for dinner, the Palais or the Christmas market;
- two brand-new apartments 50 m from the slopes, across the road, for six, for ten or for sixteen.
