Mountain biking in Combloux: the bike park up the road, five marked loops, Megève a gondola ride away

Combloux works for mountain biking the way it works for skiing: you set off from the building. The Mont-Blanc Bike Park is at the top of the route de la Cry Cuchet, five marked loops start from the village, and the summer lifts of Megève and the Jaillet carry bikes up for the long descents. At night the bike stays in the building's lockable bike room.

The Mont-Blanc Bike Park, 600 metres away

At 3701 route de la Cry Cuchet, about ten minutes' walk from the building, in the forest and facing Mont Blanc. Free, open access from 15 April to 1 November, with no lift: you pedal up and play your way down. A 2.1 km green loop with banked turns, designed for beginners and children; two blue variants with jumps are being built. The village pump track, 6 minutes by car, rounds it off for the youngest.

Combloux's five marked loops

Les Salles loop10 km469 mdifficult1 h 30
La Gouille loop7.9 km420 mvery difficult1 h 30

The two easy ones go past farms and meadows, fine for families. Les Montavus is forest riding, in the shade, with playful sections; Les Salles and La Gouille climb towards the mountain pastures with Mont Blanc opposite, and La Gouille has tight turns and technical passages. The MTB and e-MTB map is at the tourist office, and the GPX track of each loop can be downloaded from combloux.com.

On an e-mountain bike

Assistance changes the scale of the week: the Beauregard pastures, the Cuchet or the Col du Jaillet become a half-day ride, back for lunch. The battery charges in the apartment overnight.

Taking the lifts: the Jaillet and Megève

The Jaillet gondola, on the Megève side, runs every day from 4 July to 30 August 2026, 9.15 am to 5.45 pm; at the top, at 1,580 m, an MTB route map is handed out at the ticket office. In Megève, the Mont d'Arbois gondola (20 June to 6 September), the Rochebrune cable car (4 July to 6 September) and the Petite Fontaine chairlift (4 July to 30 August) carry bikes up for the descents of the Évasion area. The summer Évasion pass, made for mountain bikers, costs €23 a day (€20.50 for children) and €230 for the season; a single ride on a Megève lift is €11.

Hiring, going with a guide

Two shops side by side in the village centre, 8 minutes by car: Ski and Bike (Skiset), 64 route de Sallanches, and Riding Zone (Skimium). Mountain bikes and e-mountain bikes, road bikes, children's bikes, online booking. For a guided ride, Level Up Vélo: Xavier, an instructor, leads half-day or full-day e-MTB outings on routes chosen for your level (+33 6 12 90 50 66). In July and August, book your bikes before you arrive.

With children

The bike park's green loop, the pump track, the link to the Jaillet; at the top of the Jaillet, the scooter descent and the giant swing.

Mountain manners

Trails are shared: walkers have priority, slow down when you pass. In the pastures, close the gates behind you and walk your bike past the herds, guard dogs included. Stay on the marked routes.
