When to go to Combloux: seasons, half-terms and the best times

• UK school holidays: February half-term from 15 to 19 February 2027 in most of England, Scotland and Wales; Christmas from 21 December 2026 to 4 January 2027; Easter from 26 March to 9 April 2027 (England and Wales). Dates vary by local authority: check your school's calendar.
• Swiss holidays: Geneva 15 to 19 February; Vaud 6 to 14 February. Christmas from 24 December to 8 January (Geneva) and to 10 January (Vaud). Easter from 26 March to 9-11 April.
• French winter holidays 2027: zone C (Paris, Versailles, Créteil) 6 to 22 February; zone A (Lyon, Grenoble, Bordeaux) 13 February to 1 March; zone B (Lille, Nantes…) 20 February to 8 March. Four weeks of high demand; the weeks starting 6 and 27 February are slightly less busy than the two in the middle.
• French spring holidays 2027: zone C 3 to 19 April, zone A 10 to 26 April, zone B 17 April to 3 May — after Combloux has closed, with Évasion open until 11 April.
• Belgian holidays: Flanders, carnival break from 8 to 14 February; Wallonia-Brussels, winter break from 22 February to 5 March. Christmas from 21 December to 3 January (Flanders) or 1 January (Wallonia-Brussels).

Winter, week by week.

• Opening, 19-20 December 2026: first snow, quiet slopes, pre-Christmas prices.
• Christmas and New Year, 19 December to 3 January: two festive weeks, decorated apartments, a programme of events. The first weeks to be booked, Saturday to Saturday.
• January: the quietest month and often the snowiest, once the festive season is over; uncrowded slopes on weekdays, the lowest prices of the winter. Polo Masters and Winter Golf in Megève, the Kandahar in Les Houches.
• March: sunshine, long days, spring snow, sunny terraces; the Portes du Mont-Blanc close on 21 March 2027, Évasion Mont-Blanc on 11 April — in March, you can ski in Megève and Saint-Gervais until Easter.

Summer.

• June: La Comblorane (12-13 June 2027), the opening of the natural swimming lake in mid-June, rhododendrons in the mountains, quiet trails. Pre-season prices.
• July-August: French summer holidays from 3 July 2027; lifts open, the market, Tuesday concerts at the lake, the Jumping and the Blues Festival in Megève, the Baroque Festival, the UTMB at the end of August. The week of 15 August is the most in demand.
• September: the soft light of late season, the mountain pastures at the end of the summer, the Tramway du Mont-Blanc until the end of September; in 2027, the Cycling World Championships from 24 August to 5 September, 8 km away.

Autumn and the off-season

French autumn half-term (Toussaint) from 17 October to 2 November 2026: Toquicimes in Megève, the Abondance cows coming down from the mountain pastures, the 4S toboggan open again, the forests. November and early December: the lowest prices of the year, the Aiguille du Midi closed until 18 December, but the Montenvers, the thermal baths and Le Palais open — and peace and quiet for remote working from the desk in the Mont Blanc bedroom.

Booking

In winter, Saturday to Saturday and 7 nights minimum during the school holidays, 3 nights minimum outside them; in summer, more flexible lengths of stay, according to the availability calendar. The price shown is the total price. Both apartments together sleep 16, for family reunions and groups.
